Biography

Dr. Sang-Soo Yeo, a visionary in the field of computer science and engineering, earned his Ph.D. from Chung-Ang University, Seoul, Korea, in 2005. Dr. Yeo's career is distinguished by his role as a professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Mokwon University, Korea, where he also serves as the Dean of Planning and Budget.

His professional journey extends beyond academia. Dr. Yeo has contributed significantly to the Ministry of Interior and Safety (MOIS) and has been an influential figure at the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) from February 2020 to July 2021. His leadership extends to his roles as President of the Institution of Creative Research Professionals (ICRP) and Vice President of the ICT Platform Society (ICTPS).

Dr. Yeo is also recognized for his pivotal role as the Steering Chair of the PlatCon conference series. This comprehensive conference series focuses on platform technology and services and has gained significant prominence in the field (more details at PlatCon).

Throughout his career, Dr. Yeo has been instrumental in organizing and chairing numerous conferences and workshops across the globe. His involvement in these events, ranging from MUE, IPC, FBIT, FGCN, SH, ISA, CSA, UMC, BSBT, ASEA, SecTech, to various IEEE conferences such as HPCC, AINA, UIC, ATC, MUSIC, and many more, showcases his commitment to fostering growth and collaboration in the field.

Dr. Yeo's research interests are vast and encompass areas like security, privacy, personal information protection, ubiquitous computing, multimedia services, embedded systems, and bioinformatics. He is an esteemed member of multiple professional societies, including ICRP, ICTPS, KIPS, KIISE, KICS, KIISC, KMS, KDAS, KONI, KIMICS, and KIIT, and is a senior member of IEEE and its various societies.
