Biography

Dr. Jongsung Kim is an esteemed scholar and a leading expert in the fields of cryptography and digital forensics. He embarked on his academic journey at Korea University, South Korea, where he earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in mathematics in 2000 and 2002, respectively. Dr. Kim's dedication to his field took on an international dimension as he achieved double doctoral degrees, a remarkable feat that underscores his commitment to academic excellence.

His first Ph.D. was obtained in 2006 from the ESAT/COSIC group of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, focusing on the intricate aspects of cryptanalysis, including combined differential, linear, and related-key attacks on block ciphers and MAC algorithms. The second Ph.D. was completed in 2007 at Korea University, where he specialized in engineering in information security.

Currently, Dr. Kim holds the prestigious position of Full Professor at Kookmin University, South Korea, in the Departments of Information Security, Cryptology and Mathematics, and Financial Information Security. His expertise in cryptanalysis and symmetric cryptosystems is widely recognized, and he has made significant contributions to the field of digital forensics.
